My grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins (who all live in Ecuador—the mainland), my little sister and I spent a week (on a multitude of boats) traveling the Galapagos Islands.

It was an absolute dreamlike adventure.

Most of our time was spent exploring what Isla Santa Cruz had to offer: an hour hike to Tortuga Bay Beach (where yellow fish nibbled at our toes), the fishing piers (where pelicans and seals took advantage of fisher scraps), and a trip to visit the taxidermied Solitario George—where we learned his story at the Charles Darwin Research Station.
